Family fun and patriotism will be the main attractions Saturday at the township's sixth annual Concert and Movie in the Park, the town's unofficial Freehold Township Day.

"It's just a great time to celebrate that fundamental thing we have in common, which is our freedom and being American," said Dave Clemenko, one of the event's organizers.

The free event runs from 5 p.m. to about midnight at Michael J. Tighe Park, 65 Georgia Road.

There will be - no surprise here - a concert featuring The Nerds and a  showing of the movie of Wall-E after a fireworks display.

Much more is also on tap to keep both children and adults entertained, plus a patriotic tribute to those who serve our country.
